We have ambitious and far-reaching outcomes to achieve this year and, if you’re thinking of joining us, there’s never been a more exciting time.

This new role is in our Communities Policy division responsible for our work on community empowerment, faith and belief, and parks and green spaces. You will be part of the community empowerment team which helps create strong, connected and empowered communities through policies which strengthen community spaces and relationships and provide opportunities for people to shape the decisions that matter to them.

We are looking for a new Senior Policy Adviser with a policy, strategy or engagement background and a keen interest in supporting communities to thrive. This is a great opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a fascinating policy area working with many passionate stakeholders and as part of an inclusive and caring team.

**Job description**:
As a Senior Policy Adviser you will:

- Take a leading role in our strategy to connect with teams across DLUHC and other government departments to make policy connections and support policy development.

- Use your project management skills to make sure we have strong processes in place to oversee our stakeholder engagement across the whole team.
- Support the development of policy options, reviewing and synthesising a range of evidence sources, including stakeholder insights, to draw conclusions and support policy appraisal.

**Person specification**:
You will:

- Be able to pick up new policy ideas and concepts quickly and spot relevant connections and opportunities.
- Have good verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Have strong written communication skills with good attention to detail.
- Have good project management skills, be able to manage your own varied workload and support others to keep on track with key milestones.
- Want to understand multiple perspectives on complex problems to create policy that is informed by the experience of communities themselves.

**Behaviours**:
We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
