We are currently seeking an Associate Director, Global Debt Markets eTrading COO to join the team in London.
The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The GDM eTrading COO is member of the Global GDM Management COO team and partners with the GDM Management group in both defining the eTrading business strategy and ensuring execution capability across all geographies.
The incumbent will work closely with the GDM trading desk and eTrading teams to rollout and market algorithmic and electronic trading capabilities across all relevant desks and trading locations.
In coordination with the Global COO team they also ensure that appropriate frameworks are maintained with respect to performance, resource planning, control, and the remediation of identified issues.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Global Head of GDM eTrading and the GDM Desk Heads in the strategy formulation for the e-business and drive the execution.
- Manage the relationships with the third party eTrading venues, scheduling regular performance reviews with the business.
- Working in conjunction with the COO and management team to maintain/refresh the business vision and develop the Medium Term Outlook strategy of the business. Ensure this is cascaded and replicated through business lines.
- Enable revenue growth and champion the rollout of the eProduct to ensure utilisation is maximised by all existing desks.
- Manage the GDM level relationships with the all eTrading third party vendors, working with the other asset classes and central management to ensure the best relationship and commercials outcomes across all of Markets.
- Defining, implementing and overseeing eTrading led programs, including tracking of achievement/deviation to plan against targets, and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) as part of the ETCC.
- Delivering new products/platforms as required by the business. Manage and present to senior stakeholders to ultimately obtain internal approvals, and oversee technical delivery to support the products.
- Work with the central ePlatform enabling team and the regional eSales teams to ensure customer enablements are done in a timely manner, following all business and regulatory controls. Review these processes looking for ways to improve and automate.
- Work with the Strategy and Regulatory Change teams to ensure change is understood and successfully passed into the E business as usual processes.
- Drive continuous improvement of the GDM e-Business lifecycle, including systems, processes, and operational infrastructure.
- Work with TFCM team to monitor execution costs across all of the electronic trading platforms and interdealer brokers, negotiating new contracts/renewals and ensuring correct allocation of these costs across the global desks.
The role reports directly to the Global COO for GDM, Securities Financing and Equities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Investment Banking.
- Strong background in a Fixed Income business environment.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to prepare senior level decks.
- Financials skill (balance sheet, RWA and other financials KPI).
- Has strong understanding of Controls, Conduct and Operational Risk.
- Able to lead and influence various groups (Sales, Ops, Tech, Client Service) and stakeholders to achieve desired outcome.
- Communicates effectively to update senior management of progress and problems.
- Understand market developments, business and client needs pre and post trade.
- Process thinker, with ability to design / engineer efficient processes, and create efficient STP work flow.
- Solutions oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and problem solving skills. Able to set priorities in a resource constrained environment dealing with multiple stakeholders.
