**The role**

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant seeking a new opportunity to work in a fantastic primary school based in Tilbury. This school really believes that every young person in the school is part of something inspirational. They really are proud of the achievements of every single pupil and pride themselves as a centre of excellence. The Teaching Assistant role focuses on children in the classroom with special educational needs. They are particularly looking for someone to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in year 2. This child would need someone comfortable/experienced with down’s syndrome and autism.

Other duties will include assisting with the planning of activities, monitoring pupils’ progress, intervening when necessary, providing relevant feedback to the classroom teacher, and performing general Teaching Assistant duties.

The successful Teaching Assistant for this role must have a genuine passion for working with young, vulnerable people. You should be empathetic, kind and keen to learn If you have previous experience working with SEN, this would be highly beneficial, especially down’s syndrome and autism. The Teaching Assistant should be a positive role model and spread positivity Having the ability to build a good rapport both with young people and the classroom teacher would be most beneficial as good relationships are key to succeed as a Teaching Assistant.
