Quality and Training Coordinator

Ipswich, United Kingdom Suffolk GP Federation CIC Full time

Are you looking for a change? We do things a bit differently.**
Our team is expanding and we are looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals to join our Urgent Care team.

**What’s the role?**:

- This is a role that focuses on staff development across various different roles, and is there to make sure our teams feel competent, confident and supported in their duties.
- You’ll be responsible for promoting best practice as well as sharing learning in a constructive and user-friendly way.
- You’ll be responsible for designing training programmes for our non-clinical staff groups across the Urgent Care Services.
- You’ll facilitate training for the non-clinical new starters and be their point of contact until they’ve been signed off as competent within their role
- You’ll also support the development of the services, identifying any themes and trends arising from incidents and complaints
- You’ll have key relationships with Operations and Service Managers, Urgent Care Operations Lead, Clinical Quality Assurance Lead and the Governance Team
- Given the nature of the role, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

The Quality and Training Coordinator role supports all three of our Urgent Care Services:

- Our GP+ service provides extra clinical appointments in the evenings, at weekends and bank holidays.
- The Emergency Department (ED) Streaming service is a primary care service co-located in the Emergency Departments (EDs) at Ipswich Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital. Patients are assessed by a clinician on the ‘front door’ and those who present with minor illness are then streamed to see one of our clinicians instead of going in to the Emergency Department.
- The Out of Hours Service provides urgent out-of-hours appointments from Monday - Friday 18:30 - 08:00 and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays. Patients access the service via NHS 111, where the NHS 111 team assess the patient over the phone and if clinically appropriate will book the patient in to our Out of Hours service. We are then able to offer the patient either an appointment at one of our Primary Care Centres or a home visit.

The services are run by Suffolk GP Federation CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company.

**Is it for me?**
We will make sure you are fully inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. Its important to us that you feel safe and supported in your role

Your development is important to us; we want to invest in you.
- You’d be suited to this role if you’ve had previous experience of delivering and designing training
- You’ll need to have good IT skills, especially working knowledge of the Microsoft packages
- You’ll also need to be able to pick up and understand new systems
- You’ll need to have a good eye for detail and understand the wider picture - you’ll need to know the intricacies of each role and how they all fit together
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills are key, as are being flexible and adaptable to change

**What we can offer you**:

- A strong ethos of flexible working, to help us maintain (or reclaim) that work/life balance
- Agile working, enabling us to work from a variety of bases, interacting with your teams at the most appropriate location
- Innovative teams who strive in forward thinking, with a voice that is heard
- A visible and supportive management team, with operational support that ‘get it’
- Excellent IT teams & support giving us first class equipment and ‘no wait’ responses
- A commitment to personal development, training and leadership opportunities, with service-managed training budgets
- Cycle to work scheme
- Death in service cover
- Competitive salaries with annual benchmarking
- 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays) on starting, rising to 29 days (plus bank holidays) after 5 years’ service
- Blue light card employer - Access to the discount service with thousands of discounts online and on the high street
