An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the molecular sciences team within Manchester Metropolitan University's as a mass Spectrometry specialist.

Our diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and IT facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding, and advising across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.

**The Role**:
Working in the analytical core facility supporting education, funded research, alongside commercial activities. Responsible for the delivery and future direction of mass spectrometry. Duties will include developing partnerships with external agencies and engage in collaborative projects. To identify and assess the usefulness and to lead the introduction of new techniques. Maintenance, health and safety and administration will also feature in this role.

**About You**:
You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to work on your own initiative. You will be expected to participate in external networks and user groups, attending relevant events to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques and share information with colleagues. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality service will also play an important role in being successful in this post.
