Software Development Manager

Due to continuing business growth at Pavers, we are expanding our IT Software Development department and are looking for a Software Development Manager/Head of, to lead our Head Office team in York (Northminster Business Park). We offer flexible start andend times to the working day and hybrid working.

The position would ideally suit a strong problem solver, capable of leading a team of technically skilled developers in delivering class leading solutions for our employees and customers. You will have worked in the software development industry for severalyears and are now looking for a new challenge. In addition to people management, you will be technically strong and able to turn your hand to development when the need arises.

You will lead a team of developers of various skillsets and report directly to the Head of IT and drive the creation of software solutions, always delivering projects to the highest standards.

**Key Responsibilities as our Software Development Manager/Head of**:

- Lead a medium sized team of six developers
- Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code
- Team player with experience collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Take technical lead responsibilities for projects and work streams
- Ensure software and solution deliverables are produced to the highest standard, consistent, ‘fit for purpose’ and meeting the expectation of the customer/business
- Be highly supportive to users where engagement is required
- Assist in the provision of third level support to business user
- Coach & guide your team with a continuous learning environment mentality

**Requirements to be our Software Development Manager/Head Of**:

- Around 5 years software development experience
- Detailed understanding of Javascript frameworks, e.g. React.js, Node.js
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL (SQL Server / MySQL)
- HTML / CSS
- Appreciation of.NET (VB or C#) and ASP.Net
- Web Services (REST/XML/JSON)
- Exposure to Cloud based solutions (Azure, AWS, Google)
- Cloud Computing / DevOps
- Android (Java)
- Hold valid Right to Work status for the UK (no sponsorship)
- Excellent communicator (written & verbal)
- Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills

Salary**:circa £65,000** depending on experience plus;
