**Job summary**
NGPS is an organisation set up and run by the GPs of Newcastle upon Tyne. This exciting new position is to work across Newcastle General Practice as implementation lead for Nursing and Clinical Apprentices, we seek someone keen to make a difference and join our_**brilliant**_ team.

- develop our Apprenticeship Workforce supply pipeline and work toward objectives that will assist with retention and retaining our workforce;
- look to create sustainable Apprenticeship attraction and recruitment solutions.
This role reports to the Workforce Transformation Project Manager and to the NGPS Lead Nurse.

**Main duties of the job**
The role holder will work closely and build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and develop and implement a communication strategy for the project utilising internal and external resources and stakeholders to develop and deliver the programme, fostering collaboration and innovation, sharing best practice (locally and nationally), and ensuring future sustainability by the end of the project.
- Co-ordinate Apprenticeship placements
- Lead the fellowship for new nurses and GPs.
- Design content for peer support sessions within the fellowship
- Supervision and access new staff
- Facilitate training (induction and clinical skills)
- Increase apprenticeship pathways
- Improve apprenticeship information
- Design new processes
- An ambassador for apprenticeships
- Be involved with Collaborative Newcastle initiatives
- Lead collaborative apprenticeships with other organisations
- Design training packages
- Undertake train the trainer courses or any other training to develop the role
- Create innovative ideas and designs to primary care that will increase recruitment, recruitment quality and the retention of staff
- Very organised and works at a fast pace

Newcastle GP Services (NGPS) is an ambitious and innovative membership organisation, providing support to 27 GP Practices across Newcastle. A small, friendly and professional team based in Gosforth, we deliver a range of services, including Urgent Treatment Centres, Outreach Bus, Enhanced Access, managing a primary care staff bank, as well as providing financial and administrative assistance to the seven Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the city. Our mission is to ensure that voice of Newcastle Primary Care is heard, and that we work on behalf of our members to work at the right scale.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- In collaboration with senior colleagues, lead the Apprenticeship workforce implementation in Newcastle General Practice, ensuring all key deadlines are met, reporting progress against defined actions as required
- To coordinate the work of different work streams within implementation activities, developing detailed plans to ensure that core NGPS values are promoted at all times.
- To compile implementation reports and papers, ensuring reporting mechanisms are delivered and that a clear quality assurance route is maintained so that progress can be effectively monitored, and presenting these in a variety of settings
- To develop an implementation communication strategy, being clear about communication needs at the different stages of implementation and identifying the different roles and forms of engagement with internal and external stakeholders often involving negotiation and persuasion.
- Establish and maintain good communication channels and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Agree on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure data is compiled and reported to the NGPS Executive Board.
- Work with Clinical leads to define a scope of practice document for Registered Nursing Associates relevant to their clinical place of work.
- To provide oversight, advice, and guidance to ensure Newcastle General Practice's professional environment to facilitate a positive working environment.
- Develop information relating to Apprenticeship roles on NGPS Workforce website/App to support attraction to the role and develop the future pipeline.
