Arup’s assessments team forms part of the Climate and Sustainability Services portfolio. The team coordinates, manages and produces ESG due diligence reports and provides broader ESG and sustainability advice to clients. We work with a variety of technical disciplines on a wide range of infrastructure and real estate projects. We have a track record of delivering insightful and cutting-edge due diligence to clients on a broad range of transactions in the UK and internationally. We also focus heavily on working with clients after a successful acquisition to deliver tangible ESG improvements to their new assets.
Our work spans real estate and infrastructure. In the infrastructure field, we work on all types of projects, including transport, energy, data centres and more. We work on projects in the UK and internationally. The opportunity to travel for work is available, but the amount of site visits required can be tailored to suit your personal circumstances.
The position is for an ESG Consultant to work within our Climate and Sustainability Services portfolio in London. You will deliver ESG due diligence reports for projects and engage with clients and asset operators on post-deal improvements. Clients will include private equity investors and lenders. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental, social, safety, engineering and transaction specialists to deliver high quality ESG consultancy services.
**You will be responsible for**:
- Preparing ESG due diligence reports - this will involve seeking and reviewing information on the asset and delivering reports as part of a team.
- Providing advice on ESG improvements for assets and organisations, and developing and delivering plans to implement these improvements.
- Project management activities including programme and budget control.
- Interfacing with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Communicating and liaising with clients.
- Assisting with business development and marketing.
- Preparing bids and presentations.
**Skills and knowledge**:
You will be a motivated, enthusiastic and competent individual with existing consultancy experience.
Experience is sought in ESG/EHS/Environmental due diligence or advisory services for private equity investors (ESDD), and/or environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) for lenders.
You will require the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
- Good understanding of environmental and social legislation and standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working on multiple tasks and projects at any one time
- Good analytical skills with a focus on finding solutions in relation to technical and project management issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; must have strong report writing skills
- Experience of working within a commercial environment, including programme and time management, quality assurance and financial/budget control
- Ability to work under own initiative
- A focus on meeting and exceeding client requirements and a commitment to technical quality and excellence.
**Qualifications**
- Education to degree level, preferably a masters degree
- Ambition to become a member of an appropriate professional body and achieve chartership.
