Communications & Marketing Officer

As a Communications and Marketing Officer for Herefordshire, you'll be responsible for letting people know about the place, and how they can visit.
What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager, you'll be working within a dynamic and forward thinking visitor experience team in the portfolio. Our Herefordshire portfolio is made up of Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle and Parkland, The Weir Garden and seven open-access countryside places including Midsummer Hills, part of the Malvern Hills.
You'll have so many opportunities to share our cause through great stories and content with our stories from our conservation work to experiences in historic houses, gardens, parkland and miles of way-marked walks, not to mention our variety of playful and project experiences.
What you'll be doing:We have an annual plan covering communications and marketing, and your role from will be to achieve what’s on that plan. We have some ambitious targets that you’ll be aiming for, including reaching new and diverse audiences, so there’s room for creativity and fresh ideas.
Your day-to-day work will cover things like creating new content on our web pages, and making sure that existing information remains relevant and accurate, running social media accounts, creating promotional materials and writing and distributing press releases.
You'll be working closely with your colleagues on site and the Trusts regional advisers, known as consultants. You'll be part of a team making sure that we're sharing the best stories we can, with a focus on spreading the word about places to visit and letting people know about the Trust’s conservation work.

- familiar and confident with various marketing techniques, including digital and social media
- experienced in writing and speaking clearly
- someone who puts people first, and understands why great customer service matters
- skilled in working with IT (including Microsoft Office)
- good at solving problems, and able to work on your own initiative
