Johnson & Johnson’s Global Tax Group is currently recruiting for the position of **Senior Director, EMEA Tax Operations**, the regional lead for the country tax centers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. This position is responsible to ensure all J&J’s tax compliance, audit and reporting requirements in EMEA are timely, accurately and efficiently completed in close collaboration with the regional reporting center of excellence.
In addition to delivering on these requirements through the country tax centers, the position will identify and implement appropriate country and regional tax planning and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with the JNJ tax planning teams and partner with Tax Policy on country legislative and regulatory proposals. The position will report to the Vice President, Global Tax Operations.
**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Lead the continued development of Country Tax Centers, with standardized best practices for local tax reporting and direct and indirect compliance activities for both direct and indirect taxes, including SOX compliance
- Drive evolution of organizational and operational design, including with co-sourcing providers
- Partner with Business Unit Finance, Global Services and other functions to enable efficient, integrated processes
- Attract and develop strong talent to lead Operations activities at the Country Tax Centers and champion a diverse, equitable end inclusive working environment
- Partner with the Tax Technology Team to ensure the technology roadmap is executed as well as drive regional innovation projects
- Coordinate with the Tax Counsel Group and Tax Planning Group on local tax aspects of transactions and repatriation and planning structures
- Coordinate with the Global Transfer Pricing and Global Tax Dispute Groups on transfer pricing documentation, tax audits & litigations and advance pricing agreements
- Advise the tax leadership team on all relevant tax and tax accounting issues impacting the EMEA companies
- Lead staff development processes, including succession planning and performance calibrations
**Qualifications** QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including significant direct and/or indirect tax experience, and broad-based technical tax knowledge, with expertise preferred in US GAAP tax accounting, tax compliance and tax technology.
- EMEA Tax experience is preferred.
- Experience leading corporate tax compliance and reporting functions is preferred
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) is required, preferably in Accounting, Tax or Law.
- Strong communication, change management and people management skills are required along with a strong background in financial and tax processes.
- Excellent partnering and influencing skills are required, especially the ability to interface with finance partners, external advisers and internal tax leaders.
- This position is based in EMEA and may require travel up to 25% of the time.
