We have an exciting opportunity for a Neurodiverse Family Engagement Practitioner (ND FEP) to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the SEND Team.
**About the Team**
The ND FEP will be part of the SEND Team, dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.
**About the Role**
- We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to support families as part of the Neuro-Diversity Multi-Disciplinary Team (ND MDT). Key responsibilities include:
- Providing support for families with understanding, accessing, and actioning areas of the Neurodiversity Profiling Tool (NDPT).
- Managing signposting messages and support.
- Developing peer-to-peer support groups.
- Linking resources across the system.
- Supporting schools and other professionals working with young people in accessing signposting messages.
- Providing targeted advice and guidance for families requiring extended support.

**About You**
We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
- Successful experience in a post working with children/young people and/or families.
- Relevant knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity, including strategies to support neurodivergent individuals.
- Proven communication skills, both oral and written, including report writing.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use own initiative within the framework of accountability to the Team Manager.
- Experience of liaison and negotiation with other agencies.
- Excellent level of IT literacy to use self-service, digital user platforms, and MS Office.
