**Autism and Communication Support Worker**

**Support children with complex needs to connect, communicate, and thrive**

A specialist school is looking for an Autism and Communication Support Worker to join their committed team. This is a classroom-based role supporting children with autism and significant communication needs. An immediate start is available, and the position has the potential to become permanent.

**The Role**
Working with pupils who have autism and other complex needs, you will play a vital role in helping them access learning and develop key communication and life skills. The role involves using a range of alternative communication strategies including AAC, PECS, and Makaton, and supporting behaviour positively to help pupils feel safe and understood.

**Who Should Apply**
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in:

- Supporting children or young people with autism and communication challenges
- Care, health, social care, or education settings
- Behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies

You’ll need to be patient, calm, and consistent, with a commitment to helping every pupil find their voice and build confidence.

**The School**
This is a highly inclusive specialist setting where staff work closely with therapists, families, and external professionals to meet each child’s individual needs. The environment is structured, nurturing, and focused on small but meaningful progress.

**Working Hours**
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Open to full-time and part-time applicants.
