To support our expanding events program across the five iconic venues that we manage, we are recruiting an Events Manager to deliver a range of events including live entertainment, orchestral performances and private hires.
**Our Organisation**
The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
Across all our venues, cafés, indoor and outdoor spaces we plan and deliver a wide range of year round events including free events for the local community and visitors to Cheltenham, live shows, conferences, weddings, exhibitions, markets and dinners.
Each team member matters to us and joining the team will provide opportunities to help us deliver our projected growth and ensure that all our events and venues are the top choice for visitors.
The Role - **Events Manager**
Working with a variety of stakeholders on behalf of our clients, including catering, technical, front of house and operations, you will oversee full end to end delivery of our events. Combined with experience in delivering a variety of events from high end weddings to live entertainment and corporate dinners, you will have an eye for detail and a desire to exceed expectation. You will support The Trust’s growth aspirations by working as part of the events management team.
**Duties will include**:
- Development and execution of events from proposal through to delivery
- Client liaison
- Oversight of operations and coordination of stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the right resources for each event
- Providing leadership, motivation, direction and support to the wider event team
- Anticipating potential issues and mitigating them through innovative problem solving
- Using feedback to continuously improve the customer experience and suggest new ideas to expand or improve our programme
- Thinking commercially, managing budgets, income potential and growth opportunities
- Liaising with new and existing clients to deepen relationships and encourage repeat bookings
**Our Requirements**:
- Minimum of two years relevant experience in a management capacity, ideally gained in a customer facing environment e.g. event management, hospitality, or a visitor attraction.
- Understanding of event operations, with a good knowledge of health, safety and security policies & procedures.
- Knowledge of events methodology with ability to adapt to a variety of event spaces.
- Superb oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Confident networking and proactive approach to developing new income streams.
- Practical, can-do, hands-on approach.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple demands and deadlines.
**The Package**
- Full time, working 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rolling rota
- Salary range of £28,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience
