Yard Assistant

We have a great opportunity for a **Yard Assistant** to join our team at **Jewson Wokingham (RG41 2XS)**

A **Yard Assistant's** role is essential to keeping our branch and yard running smoothly. From serving our customers in the yard to loading vehicles ready for delivery, and from monitoring yard stock to growing our sales, you'll be at the heartof our operations.

We have a friendly team who pride themselves on offering a great service and excellent product knowledge. We have a sales office, warehouse, yard stores, shop & counter, timber supply and customer delivery vehicles

**Is this role right for me?**

If you love working with people, you're a good listener and you think you could help our customers feel welcome, then this could be a great opportunity for you to join our team as a **Yard Assistant**

It would be preferable for you to have:

- Previous experience working in an outdoor role with extensive manual handling (full work-wear and PPE is provided)
- Previous experience using a forklift truck would be beneficial although training/refresher will be provided

**So, what will you be doing?**

Our **Yard Assistants** have a strong focus on customer service as well as working outside in the yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers and enjoys working outdoors, rain or shine

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to process and prepare customer orders
- Load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Fork Lift Truck
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority

**Hours of Work**: Full time - Monday-Friday 7.30am-5pm and every 2nd Saturday 8am-12pm.
