**Job description**:

- Can you help us to ensure that our people feel empowered, connected and understand the part they play in DIO's success?
- We are seeking a motivated, experienced and creative communications professional to join our Corporate Communications function. Working within the Internal Communications team, the Internal Communications Officer will deliver our internal campaigns as well as wider Defence and Government messaging. The post holder will need to build strong relationships across DIO, as well as with Communications counterparts across Defence.
- They will be comfortable advising colleagues of all levels, including senior leaders. Working as part of an established team, you will bring creative ideas and an organised approach to enable us to keep our people informed and engaged across multiple channels.- They will be practical, organised and be able to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. They can expect to work closely with colleagues across Marketing, External and Strategic Communications, in support of DIO’s organisational and culture change goals.-
**Person specification**:

- The Internal Communications Officer will:
- develop engaging messages and digital content for a corporate audience across a range of channels and tools, including Intranet, videos, briefings, blogs and leadership communication

write clearly, concisely and accurately for our diverse and dispersed corporate audience- have an awareness of how different internal channels work together, and explore new channels and emerging technology
- provide expert guidance to colleagues on the most appropriate communications approach
- organise and run staff engagement events
- work across DIO to understand emerging internal communications needs, gain an understanding of the messages required and the most effective channels and tools to engage our audiences

**Desirable Skills & Experience**

Experience of working in a multi-disciplined public sector corporate communications team
Relevant professional body eg CIPR, Institute of Internal Communication
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Adobe software
