As we’re a virtual business, this is a fully remote position and we're looking for someone who is able to work within the GMT/BST timezone between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
It’s vital you’re comfortable working and communicating within a virtual office environment, drawing particular awareness to work deadlines, progress reporting and raising queries. You’ll also be set up to work remotely, with space allowing for privacy of internal and client communications.

**About the role**:
We’re looking for a proactive, reliable & assertive Bookkeeper to work alongside our team during a busy period, supporting our existing & new clients with ongoing bookkeeping & accounts preparation.
Our virtual setup enables us to utilise technology in the accounts sector and beyond to deliver valuable services to our clients through innovative approaches. As a champion within our accounts team, you’ll be comfortable learning and using new software and platforms and leveraging them towards providing proactive support to our team internally and delivering top-class solutions and services our clients.
You’ll be a vital part of continuing our client-rated quality delivery. This role would suit someone who has excellent attention to detail, is diligent in their work, likes to work within a team to hit deadlines & proactively resolve any queries as they arise. You’ll be familiar with getting into the details and hit the ground running and used to working on multiple client accounts; you’ve possibly worked at an Accountants Practice before or have had multiple clients and used to switch between accounts.
The majority of our clients are UK based & in the creative, agency or software & technology sectors, so an understanding of e-commerce & online/cloud accounting in these areas would be beneficial.
**Required experience and qualifications**:
- AAT Qualified
- 1 years minimum of experience in a commercial and client-facing environment
- Working and sound understanding of UK Tax, including:
- VAT
- Payroll
- Working experience & proficiency using:
- Xero
- Dext
- High competency in Google Suite and Google Sheets
- Excellent verbal & written English (fluent)
- Experience working on multiple client accounts
**It would be beneficial, but not essential if you had the following experience**:
- Understanding / working knowledge of:
- Corporation Tax
- Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Experience working on the following software/platforms:
- Chaser
- Quickbooks online
- Futrli
- Karbon
- Spendesk
- Taxfiler
- Stripe
- GoCardless
- Shopify
- Companies House / HMRC

**Responsibilities Overview**:
- Updating & reconciling company accounts on cloud based accounting software (primarily Xero) for clients including:
- Bank, credit card & online payments (e.g. Stripe & GoCardless) reconciliations
- Processing supplier invoices & statement checking
- Preparing supplier payment runs & issuing remittances
- Adding customer invoices, issuing statements & matching receipts
- Acting as an in house credit control for clients.
- Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and annual accounts report preparations
- To include, fixed asset reconciliations, Preparemnt, accruals and all other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with payroll preparations
- Assisting with VAT return preparations
- Assisting & preparing Corporation Tax returns
- Managing the calendar of tasks to ensure bookkeeping duties are completed by due dates & deadlines are completed on time
- Clear communication internally on task status and also with the clients where appropriate.
**Overview of Terms**:
- £25k pa - pro rata
- 20-25 hours per week
- Permanent contract
- 33 days holiday inclusive of UK BH's - pro rata
- 5% / 3% employee / employer pension
