The Home Office is here to make the UK safer. Border Force is a Law Enforcement arm of the Home Office with primary responsibility for UK Border Security, including counter terrorism, immigration and customs matters.

We are responsible for handling the UK border control by implementing immigration and customs regulations and working with the wider Home Office on counter terrorism, organised crime, modern slavery and trafficking. Border Force has five operational regions in the UK: North, Central, Heathrow, South and South East & Europe. **Job description**:
The UK Border is protected by the Border Protection Squadron as part of National Operations Headquarters, with a fleet of vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels and smaller Coastal Patrol Vessels. The Squadron coordinates delivering the maritime enforcement capability and, in so doing, to prevent and disrupt organised crime from exploiting the UKs territorial waters for illegal purposes including drugs trafficking, illegal immigration and modern slavery. All vessels carry out maritime enforcement, surveillance, security and interception duties in both UK and adjacent international waters.

The Business Support Officer provides specialist support to business managers in relation to Human Resources, Finance, and administrative tasks.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Completing and submitting of recruitment requests and purchase forms;
- Providing admin support to panel members from sifting to interviews and assisting Business managers submitting documents in line with Policy;
- Setting up and maintaining Purchase Orders raised on behalf of Maritime staff;
- Collaborating with internal and external suppliers, requisition teams, Government Recruitment Services, Home Office Resourcing Centre, Resourcing Support Team, Finance Team, Shared Service Centre, Cutter Crews, and local teams;
- Assisting Business HEOs on completing daily requirements;
- Coordinating Recruitment Mailbox and responding to enquires as appropriate;
- Coordinating and setting up meetings and events for the Head of Unit and G6 leadership team;
- Providing logístical support including room bookings, video-conference coordination, planning and booking travel and accommodation;
- Carrying out some Secretariat duties such as collating meeting agendas and recording actions.

Please note that in order to fully support the recruitment and finance team, Cutters and Coastal Patrol Vessel crews this post is offered on a full time basis only.

Please also note a full valid UK manual driving licence is essential as the role will involve driving between Fareham Murrills and the National Maritime Information Centre.
