**Job Purpose**
The post holder will proactively contribute towards supporting and delivering the strategic aims and ambitions of the School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine through digital engagement.
You will be an all-rounder with good skills in some or all of the following: marketing, communications or digital. You will be a clear and concise communicator, and a team player willing to learn new skills. You will be skilled at writing for different audiences and outlets - including print, web and social - and have a keen eye for detail. You will be organised, adaptable, creative, and able to manage your own time and projects.
It is an exciting time to join our team as we are currently making improvements to how we communicate with staff. We are looking for someone who has experience of developing approaches to engage with all levels of staff as well as driving improvements in our digital channels.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Responsible for implementing and delivering a digital and communications plan to align with the Schools strategic aims, whilst ensuring alignment with the wider college and university strategies.
2. Work with a range of stakeholders across the University, building strong working relationships and being an advocate for the School, Web and Digital team.
3. Source, create and optimise engaging content across various media platforms that drives engagement, builds communities, raises awareness, and delivers return on investment in line with the Schools strategic priorities.
4. Be aware of communications across the wider university to plan and co-ordinate work to manage the flow of information to staff and avoid clashes on important announcements.
5. Support the development and management of systems for the delivery of targeted and broadcast communications and engagement to our diverse population of staff.
6. Understand customer journey mapping, employ user-testing and statistical analysis in the ongoing development of new content. Undertake management and monitoring of the University’s main social media channels and website.
7. Evaluate emerging digital platforms and technologies and make recommendations on their adoption.
8. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, influencing colleagues to identify and implement process improvements and improving service quality.
9. Utilise and develop the University’s Content Management System (CMS), T4, ensuring compliance with University regulations and strategy with regards to website development.
10. Undertake other appropriate activities as defined by the School Executive Team

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role, or:

A2 A Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A3 Detailed knowledge and understanding of web usability and accessibility: particularly in relation to the 2010 Equality Act and the Public Sector Accessibility Regulations 2018
A4 Proven experience of copywriting for different audiences, editing and proofreading across a variety of channels.
A5 Proven experience and regular use of social media

**Desirable**:

B1 Experience of managing large-scale digital projects.
B2 Experience of working within Higher education
B3 Detailed practical knowledge of web user testing and statistical analysis
