Job Introduction
Here at Colas, we are looking for someone to join as a Payroll Officer located at our Head Office based Solihull. Reporting to the Payroll Team leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of 2 weekly pay runs and working as part of a team who process payroll for around 1500 colleagues.
Main Responsibilities
As a Payroll Officer you will be responsible for preparing and inputting data into the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and confidentially of information. You will deal with a wide range of queries including absence, statutory sick pay, average holiday pay and auto enrolment. You will support payroll runs across the company. You will be responsible for: Average Holiday Pay, Pension auto enrolment, Salary sacrifice of Pension/AVC’s, Share Investment Plan (SIP), Real Time Information (RTI) submissions and ePayslips/P60’s. You will Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legislation regarding PAYE, NI, Pension Auto Enrolment and other payments/deductions and all other aspects of Payroll. You will also deal with HMRC, CMS, DWP and employee queries. Ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact. To carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by the Payroll Team Leader.
