**Key Responsibilities (please refer to role profile for further detail)**:
- Day to day case management of new and ongoing safeguarding/disciplinary concerns and cases
- Acting as fact-finding/investigative officer for all reported concerns and coordinating the work of independent investigators where required.
- In conjunction with the Compliance and Safeguarding Manager and taking advice from the Case Management Group (CMG), take decisions on appropriate action in safeguarding cases and concerns
- Support the investigation of adverse DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks for employees and volunteers
- In conjunction with the Lead Compliance Officer, take decisions on appropriate action in disciplinary cases and referrals.
- Assist the Lead Compliance Officer in preparing for meetings and hearings relating to disciplinary matters and safeguarding cases as required.
- Attendance at the British Cycling Safeguarding Case Management Group to present information and participate in group discussion as required.
- Provide appropriate reports as required
- Escalate unresolved problems and adjust tasks as appropriate or directed by the Compliance and Safeguarding Officer to meet changing demands.
- Provide advice to and liaise with colleagues, members, volunteers and partner organisations on compliance matters, including safeguarding, discipline and anti-doping.
- Maintain accurate records, analyse data and produce regular reports in relation to compliance matters including safeguarding and disciplinary cases.
- Support the Compliance and Safeguarding Manager with anti-doping administration and limited Data Protection work from time to time and as required.
- Ensure the Organisation’s Equality Policy and commitment to inclusivity is embedded into all work strands and own behaviour at all times.
**The key skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for are**:
- Experience of working in a small team providing services to internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of and an interest in safeguarding and/or disciplinary procedures
- Understanding of data protection and information sharing principles
- Experience of working with volunteers is desirable
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and trust, with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
