**Job Type**:Full Time, Contract (18 months)

**Salary**: Depending on experience £64,589 - £75,051 pa (inc basic salary plus RR 15%)

**The Role**

Reporting to the Associate Director of Infrastructure and IT Operations (AD), the Head of Infrastructure will be responsible for the delivery of day-to-day IT Infrastructure management and support as well as networking and Infrastructure as service (IaaS).The postholder will also be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of key IT projects. The post holder will deputise for the AD on a number of areas and will develop good working relationships with NHS bodies and the Department of Health and SocialCare.

The company is embarking on a period of transformation and it is expected that the IT landscape will evolve significantly over the next 18 months. Thus the role will be fixed term for 18 months. During this period it is expected that the Head of Infrastructurewill lead the implementation of key transformation work pertaining to the company's infrastructure as well as managing business as usual. This role includes:

- Implementation of Cloud hosting
- Representing IT Infrastructure in the Digital Workplace programme
- Maximising opportunities for automation across the portfolio

The role requires a balance of technical expertise gained through current, hands-on experience in developing systems, excellent interpersonal and management skills along with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships in a complex environment.As the Head of Infrastructure, the post holder will carry out a wide range of activities, from producing detailed work flow plans and dealing with operational matters to architectural design of systems. The post holder will manage the teams that are responsiblefor supporting the Infrastructure and IaaS teams.

**Qualifications**

Essential
- MCSE or equivalent

Desirable
- AWS Qualification

**Experience**

Essential
- Extensive experience in an IT Infrastructure role
- Experienced in establishing high performing teams and engaging staff in effective delivery of services as well as experience of directly managing staff including performance management and appraisals

Desirable
- Experience in using Agile project management methods

**Skills/Knowledge**

Essential
- Extensive knowledge of IT Infrastructure and IaaS, industry standards and processes for effective delivery of IT operations
- Knowledge of supporting an Office 365, WAN connectivity and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skilled in project and programme management including resource planning.

Desirable
- Experience of working in the health sector / NHS or other public sector organisation
- Experience of managing a hybrid IT infrastructure
