We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim's Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim's UK & Pilgrim'sFood Masters). Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.
As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation. We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.
The Shared Services company includes a dedicated Procurement function. Reporting to the Head of Procurement - Indirects, we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for Senior Buyer - Indirects.
Job Purpose:
A strategically focused role with responsibility for the management of spend across a range of categories within the Indirects spend portfolio across the Group. A Senior Buyer will lead as a commercial representative working in a cross-functional environment,delivering against agreed challenging targets: driving efficiencies and change, ensuring best total cost of ownership whilst minimising risk.
Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage supplier contracts for major areas of Indirects spend.
- Develop sourcing strategies for each sub-category.
- Identify cost savings through spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes, new technology, alternative suppliers, non-traditional sources v traditional sources etc.
- Utilise E-Procurement tool for managing tendering and benchmarking processes, including contract negotiations.
- Work within and lead cross functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value-adding projects.
- Develop Risk Management & Business Continuity Plans with key suppliers.
- Drive improvements in supplier quality and service through SRM programmes.
- Forecast and understand major commodity price trends.
What You'll Need:

- At least 3 years' experience in a Procurement Department.
- Recent experience in managing and achieving cost savings across a range of suppliers and categories within Indirects.
- Hold a driving license and flexible to travel as required.
- Proficient in supplier benchmarking and tender process.
- Experience in contract negotiations.
- Effective communication, influencing and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
- Proven project management and implementation skills
- Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable:

- Previous experience in a fresh, FMCG business.
- Knowledge of Indirects categories.
- Experience of category management principles.
- Experience of eProcurement systems.
- Interested in improving sustainability within the supply base.
- Familiar with SAP and data analytic tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI).
