Conservation Officer

We are WorkwithYork and are working with our local authority client to find an experienced Conservation Officer.

This role is for an initial 5 months and part time 2 full days a week, which can be flexible on which days are worked.

This will be a fully remote working role.

Competitive pay. We offer weekly pay, holiday pay and pension with online timesheets.

This role involves:

- Providing a source of expertise within the Design, Conservation and Sustainable Development Section in relation to the historic built environment; listed buildings, conservation areas, locally significant historic buildings.
- Giving relevant and timely comments and advice regarding Listed Building consent, Planning and other approvals processes.
- Negotiating with applicants to achieve improvements.

**You will have**:

- A Degree, Masters or Post Graduate Diploma in heritage conservation.
- A minimum of two years previous experience of working in a similar role at Local Authority
- A detailed understanding of historic architectural development & construction methods
