The post holder will be expected to function as an independent practitioner/clinical expert by virtue of their in-depth knowledge and experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Band 6 Clinical Educator to join our team of experienced, highly skilled nurses and support workers on F18 Trauma & Orthopedic Ward. You will also be part of the wider team of F19 & F20 ensuring that education, teaching, learning and support is provided for all staff members. You will also be part of an already established team of 2 Clinical Educators that strive to ensure that all staff are well educated and supported throughout there working career.

Ward F18 is a 28 bedded ward that cares for patients with many complex orthopedic issues, this can be due to a minor injury down to road traffic collisions. F18 prides itself on providing the best possible care and experience to all our patients and their families, ensuring clinical excellence and compassionate, thoughtful care at all times.

Ensure that delivery of person centred care and compassionate care is at the centre of the speciality.

Spend 80% of their time in clinical practice in a supervisory capacity supporting new starters, Trainee Nursing Associates (TrNA) international nurses working alongside nursing staff providing clinical care to develop their knowledge and skills.

Deliver a speciality specific programme of training and education ensuring nursing teams have the skills and competencies to function safely, effectively and efficiently. This will include supporting the PDN for the speciality in the planning and implementation any new or extended clinical skills or roles.

Contribute to the development; implementation and evaluation of the Education and Training Needs Analysis for the speciality ensuring returns from appraisals are fed through to ensure continuous professional development for the area.

Be responsible for supporting ward/ dept. sisters charge nurses to ensuring staff complete their mandatory training, induction, HCA academy and Acute Care Skills in a timely manner.Contribute to the delivery and facilitation of individual sessions on the divisional education and training programmes.

Support the division in sharing of best practice and learning from patient complaints and incidents, maintaining a continuous cycle of improvement.
Work collaboratively with other clinical educators across the division to ensure education and training opportunities are shared across the division and inter-professionally.
