The Salford division of GMMH is looking to recruit into the post of a Band 7 Senior Practitioner for Personality Disorder, to be based at Prescott House
- Community Mental Health Team in Little Hulton.

Prescott House is the adult CMHT serving the areas of Little Huton, Walkden, Worsley, Swinton and Pendlebury. It and is a well established, successful, supportive team with good links to the local community. The multi-disciplinary team consists of medical staff, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Allied Health Professionals, Clinical Psychology, administrative and support staff.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification such as Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Social Worker, Occupational therapist. Experience working in a community mental health is desirable though relevant experience in other clinical settings would be considered.

The successful applicant will be required to manage a caseload of service users under the Care Program Approach (CPA), including the assessment, intervention and discharge from the pathway through the trust's CPA policy and procedures. The support and clinical supervision of colleagues in the team and wider service is also a prominent feature of the role.

The successful applicant is required to support the team and operational managers in addition to the clinical work. This is via day to day operational duties in the team, line managing staff and may also include complaints, investigations and acting as the local leads for Root Cause Analyses.

The successful applicant will be offered training in Structured Clinical Management and any other relevant training required. The Senior Practitioners contribute to the service review, evaluation and development of the SCM pathway and are supported to develop their skills and knowledge.

The successful applicant will be required to work Monday-Friday though will also be expected to participate in the Salford division Bronze on call rota, providing clinical/operational leadership to colleagues outside of office hours, weekends and public holidays on a rota basis.

The position of Senior Practitioner for Personality Disorder is a challenging but rewarding role, primarily responsible for delivering the Personality Disorder Pathway in Salford adult services. The successful applicant will be required to deliver a high standard of clinical intervention and will also have operational/managerial responsibilities. The Salford division utilises Structured Clinical Management (SCM) as the clinical intervention for people receiving care under the Personality Disorder Pathway and is delivered via individual appointments and groups sessions. Applicants should have some knowledge and understanding of this approach.

The successful applicant will be offered regular line management supervision and an annual Individual Performance and Development Review to support personal and professional development. Clinical supervision is offered on a 1-1 basis every three weeks from the Clinical Lead for Personality Disorder and a two weekly reflective case discussion group attended by all Senior Practitioners for Personality Disorder is well established.
