Senior Resuscitation Practitioner

Salford, United Kingdom Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Full time

18 months fixed term/secondment opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Resuscitation Practitioner within an established and dynamic Resuscitation team.

As the Senior Resuscitation Practitioner, you will establish a good working relationship with the four care organisations, supporting the NCA Lead Resuscitation Practitioner to effectively co-ordinate and manage the resuscitation service. The role includes the provision of expert knowledge in relation to high quality cardiac arrest support, robust and effective training, policy development, audit and providing reliable data.

The post holder will have line management responsibilities for Resuscitation Practitioners within the team, and work closely with the NCA Lead Resuscitation Practitioner to ensure departmental objectives and organisational priorities are met.

Evidence of working in an acute clinical setting at band 6 or above is essential for this post. Collaborating with other services, the post holder will assist with improvement strategies to enhance learning and the services portfolio.

You must have thorough knowledge of the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and proven experience in delivering advanced resuscitation training is essential. Successful applicants will be supported to complete further Resuscitation courses if appropriate.

Applications are welcome from professionals with a recognised statutory qualification. If you are keen to develop personally and professionally, we can offer an interesting, challenging but highly rewarding opportunity.

You will be based at Salford Royal, but will need to travel throughout the Northern Care Alliance sites to work with departmental colleagues. A current driving license is essential.

This post will require applicants to work occasional long days, so flexibility is essential.

The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. Launched in April 2017, the NCA serves over one million people across Greater Manchester and employs over 19,000 healthcare professionals across Bury, Rochdale, Salford and Oldham. The sheer size, scale and potential of our combined service is huge. At the NCA, we can offer groupwide, flexible multi-site opportunities, as part of our connected, integrated and engaged team. We believe in saving and improving lives and are passionate about driving forward significant improvements to the provision of safe, high-quality integrated health and social care to our local community. If you share our vision, take your place with us.

You will be expected to travel to any location within The Northern Care Alliance or its associated sites, where you may reasonably be required to work for the proper performance and exercise of your duties.

**Main purpose of the job**: The post holder will support the Lead Resuscitation practitioner in ensuring the Resuscitation team is safely resourced to support the four hospitals in delivering a high quality cardiac arrest support, providing reliable data, robust and effective training, timely audits and debriefs.
