**School Social Worker**

A Local Authority in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their new Safeguarding Project which emphasises the use of Social Workers in Schools to help support children and their families to prevent statutory intervention

**Highlights**:

- This is a new **pilot which the Local Authority** has put in place to help **support children and families**:

- The role aims to support the school to work with children and their families at the earliest opportunity and **prevent statutory intervention**:

- **Will be based at Schools for 4 days per week** during term time
- You will have the **opportunity to do group and direct work with students, teachers and parents**:

- This position will also give you the opportunity to **work with teachers in an advisory capacity**:

- Pay rates for this post are in line with the memorandum.

This is an excellent opportunity as you will have the opportunity to use your experience within a different capacity and environment. Being based in the school will give you the opportunity to work directly with students, teachers as well as parents to helpidentify potential concerns very early and provide support and access to resources to prevent statutory intervention. You will also have the opportunity to work with teachers and other education staff in an advisory capacity where you will help them to identifysigns of safeguarding issue early on.

To be considered for this post you should have experience within a front line childrens social work team
