**About Inclusion Education**

Inclusion Education (working name of “Inclusion Hampshire”) supports young people within the local community who have special education (SEN) and mental health needs. It operates an Independent Special School in Basingstoke for young people aged 11-16, a college based in Hook for young people aged 16 and over and a Workplace Support Hub based in Basingstoke supporting those over the age of 18.

Reporting to the Head of Business Operations you will work closely to support the Construction & Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment across all Inclusion Education sites, with additional duties that may include driving a works provided van to transport equipment, materials, or other resources between locations.

The role involves daily site maintenance tasks, logístical support, and ensuring the safe and secure operation of the Inclusion Education sites and facilities.

**General Duties**
- Assist the Site manager with basic repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of the Inclusion Education sites to include decorating and basic carpentry.
- Help with ground maintenance, such as gardening, mowing, sweeping, and clearing walkways.
- Conduct routine inspections of all sites to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.

**Health and Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any concerns to the Site Manager/Business Operations Manager.
- Assist with the regular routine safety checks across sites.
- Conduct regular checks of Inclusion Education sites to ensure safety for students and staff.
- Ensure that all waste is properly disposed of and that recycling protocols are followed.
- Ensure all H&S records are complete and up to date.
- To fully comply with all Health and safety polices

**Logistical Support**:

- Assist in setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for events, such as assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Help with the distribution and organization of deliveries, including furniture, supplies, and equipment.
- Provide general assistance during events, ensuring smooth operation and adequate facility support.

**Security**:

- Support the Site Manager in securing all premises, including opening and locking gates, doors, and windows at the beginning and end of the day.
- Ensure safe access to the Inclusion Education sites in case of adverse weather conditions.

**Other Duties**:

- Assist with ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Head of Business Operations/Site Manager
- Participate in training sessions to improve skills, undertake mandatory training for the role, such as manual handling, safeguarding.

**Skills & Experience**

**Essential**:

- Awareness of Health and Safety issues including safe loading practices, manual handling, and safe transportation of materials & equipment in compliance with safety regulations
- Basic rounded knowledge of maintenance, including decorating and basic carpentry
- Hold a full clean valid driving license
- Awareness and knowledge of safeguarding (or willingness to complete training)

**Desirable**:

- Previous Experience in a Caretaking or Building Facilities/Maintenance is desirable
- Working in a school, College, or similar environment
- Previous experience of driving a Van
