**Job summary**:
- This appointment supports the Army through a small regional office that has both local and national responsibilities. It in turn is linked to a network of offices across the UK. Each office supports a specific Regiment through its regional connections. All staff members are Civilians.
- The key areas of responsibility include support to, Veterans, Heritage, Media, Recruiting, Cathartic events and some Commercial work.
- The Bovington Office supports the Royal Tank Regiment, who are an Armoured Regiment based in Tidworth, Wiltshire. The Regiment has over 100 Years of Service and is the oldest Tank Regiment in the World. The majority of the soldiers that have served with the Regiment come from across the UK, England, in particular London, Liverpool and Cumbria. Equally, the Regiment has a strong Scottish tradition that it continues to sustain today through its recruiting and heritage links.- Specifically, the Web based content includes the maintenance of archive material. Helping to identify new content from across the media spectrum and communicating this information across appropriate social media platforms.
- The office is in Stanley Barracks in Dorset with free car parking available on site. The area is well served by public transport. The appointment is office based however, where IT Systems allow remote home working will be possible on occasions.

- The site will require the dissemination of relevant news content including details supporting, event planning, newsletters and when necessary other related information. The Heritage area includes a vast and expanding archive maintained through an online data base. This will require information to be linked to multiple fields to increase and improve the user experience. The website is the principal medium for people wishing to make contact with the Regiment. The role includes the collation of those contact details into to the relevant supporting data bases.
- Other tasks include scanning, photo copying, fielding telephone enquiries, deputising in a limited fashion for staff absent on leave or illness.

- The applicant’s principal function is the daily management of the web based content, content placement and support to site navigation. The website reflects the digitisation of traditional office functions and acts as a focal point for the collection and distribution of information for our serving and veteran audiences. The site also supports access to a significant amount of archive materiel a majority of which has been or will be digitised to be used in support of web content, close support with the Regimental Museum, The Tank Museum and some academic research.-
