Step into a role within our **Finance Teams **as a **Customs Duty & Tax Assistant covering for Maternity **where you will help to ensure good and materials move through warehouses in the most efficient and cost-effectvie way. You’ll be solving Joules’ challenges and turning our needs into goals and solutions with JDA Dispatcher and Metapack Carrier software. You’ll analyse, supervise development, document, test and debug new and existing software systems.

**As Customs Duty & Tax Assistant your responsibilities will be**:

- Day to day key contact for Customs Duty related queries.
- Resolve of time sensitive discrepancies with third-part Freight Forwarding company (SEKO).
- Working closely with Supply Chain, Buying and Merchandising departments to investigate Duty queries.
- Support the Senior Manager - Group Tax to ensure effective Customs Duty Governance via Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)/Bonded Warehouse internal audits.
- Working with supply chain to ensure AEO SOP’s are maintained and kept up to date in preparation for HMRC Audit.
- Help to maintain the Customs Duty and VAT Group Tax Risk Register.
- Assist in designing and implementing required ongoing Customs Duty and VAT controls to enhance governance.
- Assist in all global tax filings, ensuring they are prepared and submitted on time.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for General Ledger codes.
- Ensure Tax Compliance Filing and Payment trackers are kept up to date.
- Support with any other tax projects and tasks that may arise.
**What we are looking for**:

- Part of Fully Qualified AAT or ATT.
- Previous experience in a tax based role.
- Strong IT skills - Excel, Word etc.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- High organisational skills and attention to detail.
