**Who we are**

Castle Combe Circuit has been welcoming fans of racing, car shows and a variety of other events for over 70 years. Based in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, we provide easy access to anyone in the South-West but also welcome a broad range of visitors fromacross the UK.

As a circuit we promote car and motor bike racing and even cycling events as well as action days; however our range of events do not stop there. Our small team co-ordinate a host of other events to serve families and the local community ranging from carboot sales to Steam Rallies and other fun experiences all ably supported by loyal volunteers.

The last few years have seen many changes to the motor, events and hospitality industries, and Castle Combe Circuit wants to embrace these changes. Therefore, to take us forward, we have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join us and lead thebusiness into the future.

**The role**

The General Manager is a new role to revolutionise and develop the way we work. The role combines an internal and external focus. The internal focus requires you to lead and develop the team, develop functional and commercial strategies that clearly defineactivities and processes needed to make the business run smoothly and successfully, and to ensure we adhere to all the necessary quality and compliance standards, in areas such as risk and safety. The external focus requires you to establish relationshipswith external stakeholders including our customer base, the business community, Local Authorities, MSA etc. But most importantly to drive customers to the circuit and sustain customer loyalty by creating a great experience.

Ultimately, what you bring to the role will ensure our customers have a first-class customer experience from start to finish, our employees enjoy coming to work every day, and the circuit becomes a leader in what it has to offer both locally and nationallyover the coming years.

You will report to the Board, who will be on hand to support you.

**Core duties**
- Develop and implement a People Strategy to lead and manage the team empowering them to deliver amazing experiences to our customers and identifying and developing outstanding talent.
- Develop and implement an Events Strategy to maintain events that currently work well and bring creative and innovative ideas to introduce new events to grow a profitable, sustainable business.
- Develop and implement an Operations and Finance Strategy to ensure the smooth delivery of all activities across the business including finance (management and forecasting), safety, risk, security, facilities, etc.
- Develop and implement an Estates and Environmental Strategy including maintenance, emergency response, sustainability, natural environment, capital projects etc.
- Develop and implement a Sales and Marketing strategy to manage our existing loyal and extensive customer base whilst also reaching and engaging new customers.
- Practice good Governance, regularly reporting to The Board on progress against agreed KPIs.
- Genuinely enjoy meeting, listening, and talking to all sorts of people. It is important to The Circuit that strong relationships are built and maintained with employees and external stakeholders at different levels and that we work collaboratively withthem.
- Experience of major event planning and managing a large estate.
- Leading a diverse workforce through change.
