To support the Quality & Safety Team and Head of Patient Experience in playing a key role in the facilitation of the continuous professional development needs of the Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professional staff within the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. To support front line staff to continually assess the status of the care provided and to use the methods and tools to continuously improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients. In particular initiating and sustaining improvements in pressure ulcers, patient falls, nutrition & hydration and the Mental Capacity Act To assist in co-ordinating of campaigns, events and training opportunities for staff. This will involve the use of social media, preparation of campaign materials and visiting clinical areas to support staff in the cascade and implementation of the improvement projects.
Assist the Quality Team with gathering evidence, preparation of reports and analysis of data for use for compliance, assurance and improvement projects. Support clinical and non-clinical teams to make improvements in Quality of Care through the use of available data from key data sources such as Nursing and Midwifery Quality Governance Framework, national patient survey results and the Friends and Family Test, and Trust complaints. Main duties, principles, responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive) To effectively manage and prioritise workload. To assist in the co-ordination and delivery of training to the clinical work force in the roll out of new documentation and quality related updates.
To work alongside front line staff to assess the status of the care provided and to facilitate improvements in the quality of care and outcomes for patients, in relation to pressure ulcers, patient falls, nutrition & hydration and the Mental Capacity Act. To work without direct supervision and make day to day decisions within own remit and to use initiative when to refer to others. Contribute to project activities in support of Quality, Patient Safety and Patient Experience objectives. Support the Quality Team in the compilation of clinical and information data.
To be responsible for co-ordinating and booking venues and ensuring equipment is booked and set up where required for the staff. Assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of events to meet service needs and requirements developments. Assist in identifying the educational needs for frontline staff in support of Quality, Patient Safety and Patient Experience portfolios. Keep yourself up to date in order to impart accurate information.
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. Assist in delivery of project work which demonstrates current evidence-based practice.
