**Payroll Coordinator**

**The Client**
My client is a family owned, multi-industry group with regional sites located predominantly in Norfolk & Suffolk.
Reporting to the HR Manager, they are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join their team.

**The Role & Accountabilities of the Payroll Coordinator**
- Process payroll for employees ensuring payment is made correctly and on time
- Compile and communicate monthly payroll calendar in advance and manage compliance to ensure efficient and timely payroll
- Process monthly starters, leavers, P45s, court orders, CSA payments, pension, unpaid leave, sick pay, paid leave and contractual changes
- Collate wages, input data and import into the system, checking and verifying the data
- Validate pro-rata calculations, checking payroll results for errors and correct any errors
- Ensure minimum wage legislation is complied with and process top-ups for anyone that falls below
- Process employees benefit in kind and salary sacrifice schemes
- Process any amendments to monthly pension contributions
- Produce monthly PAYE, pension and HMRC reconciliations
- Provide monthly payroll data to the accounts departments via journals
- Produce month-end and ad hoc reports for various departments
- Maintain a tracker for payroll queries and produce monthly metrics
- Work with managers to improve payroll accuracy, providing training and support as required
- Provide information to employees regarding entitlements to maternity/paternity leave etc ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Calculate and provide PAYE and NI contributions to employees
- Liaise with pension providers to ensure appropriate information is circulated to scheme members
- Maintain company car records held within the payroll scheme
- Produce Directors P11D statements annually and calculate payment of Class 1A NICs
- Complete and submit documents, returns and census to appropriate Government bodies as required
- Ensure year-end is completed and P60s have been issued to all employees
- Prepare for regular audit procedures
- Other duties as required by line manager

**Skills & Knowledge Required of the Payroll Coordinator**
- Previous experience in a similar role using payroll software
- Confidentiality
- Proficient in MS office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- A high level of numeracy
- Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Understanding of the UK GDPR
- Relevant payroll qualification desirable but not essential
