Senior Payroll and HR Coordinator Salary: £29,131 - £33,322 and associated benefits Hours: 35 hours per week Location: Our Head Office in Norwich, with some hybrid working Contract: Permanent About the role Are you a detail-driven payroll professional who thrives on accuracy and enjoys supporting people? Do you love making sure everyone gets paid correctly and on time, while also playing a key role in HR? Or maybe you’re an experienced payroll administrator looking to broaden your HR skills? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Break is dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and their families. With over 450 passionate staff, we know that smooth payroll and HR processes are vital to our mission – and that’s where you come in. As our Senior Payroll and HR Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our people operations, ensuring our payroll runs seamlessly each month and supporting a wide range of HR activities. This is a hands‑on role where your attention to detail, organisational skills, and commitment to confidentiality will make a real difference. What you’ll do Accurately process monthly payroll, ensuring all legislative and contractual responsibilities are met Input and manage employee and HMRC data using our Cascade payroll system Handle payroll queries from staff and external partners, delivering excellent customer service Administer salary sacrifice, cycle scheme, childcare vouchers, and other benefits Manage court order administration and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including sickness and absence data Reconcile payroll spreadsheets, pension payments, and general ledger postings Support and train team members on payroll software and processes Build strong relationships with managers to understand and meet business needs Help coordinate onboarding and induction processes for new starters Support with maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection Assist with HR projects, administration and initiatives, contributing to a positive workplace culture What we’re looking for Experience of end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within a busy HR or Finance team Strong organisational and communication skills, with a passion for accuracyUp-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A proactive, positive approach and a commitment to Break’s values Additional Information For more information about this vacancy, please contact Eddie Swanepoel, HR Manager: eddie.swanepoel@break-charity.org Interview date: We will shortlist and interview suitable candidates as they apply.
