There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit an Apprentice Payroll Assistant.

**The Role**

Bellway’s Payroll team is a centralised Head Office based team managing and processing the payroll for the Group Head Office Monthly Payroll and Divisional Weekly Payroll.
- Calculate, input and reconcile divisional monthly payrolls including monitoring of sickness, statutory leave, starters and leavers.
- Process divisional monthly and/or weekly payroll.
- Prepare analysis of departmental wage costs for divisions.
- Answer payroll queries from divisions and employees.
- Reconciliation of payroll to accounts.
- Assist with monthly payroll tasks as required.
- Assist with administration of pension auto enrolment for monthly and weekly paid employees.

**What is an apprenticeship?**

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes that are designed to help employers train people for specific job roles.

**How long does an apprenticeship take to complete?**

An apprenticeship takes a minimum of 12 months to a maximum of 5 years depending on the level of apprenticeship and which industry sector you are training.

By rule of thumb:
Level 2: 12-18 months

Level 3: 24 months

Degree: up to 5 years

**What happens once I complete my apprenticeship?**

**Do I get holiday when doing an apprenticeship?**

Of course We offer 25 days, plus bank holidays

**What is my probation period as an apprentice?**

6 months, but you will have the opportunity to check-in at both the 1 month and 3 month points
