If you are looking to grow your pastoral experience alongside your teaching and would enjoy supporting the personal development and achievement of a cohort of pupils, we have the perfect opportunity for you as a Deputy Head of Year: Progress.
Working closely alongside the Head of Year, Deputy Head of Year: Wellbeing and other members of the pastoral team on day to day issues within the school you will get to know your year group beyond the classroom. In addition to a teaching timetable, you will be an integral part of the leadership team for a year group. You will need to be resilient, be able to work closely with a team and be independently driven.
Our DHOYs work closely with a range of teaching, support staff and external partners as appropriate, to promote positive learning behaviour with pupils, supporting their personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning. You should be confident working with data to support the year team’s strategic work with individuals and groups of young people who may need additional support to achieve their potential. As a strong classroom practitioner you will offer credible support to teaching colleagues and departments - as well as tutors.
