About the Role:
The Information Governance Compliance Specialist I is an integral part of Latham’s Information Governance (IG) team. This role will be responsible for providing assistance to and working in concert with the IG Attorneys on the department’s regular work (e.g., legal holds, file releases, file destructions) and special projects (e.g., retention, creation, and revision of firm policies relating to data management, etc.), as well as assisting IG Attorneys with the preservation, collection, processing, review, and production of documents and electronically stored information. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Other key responsibilities include:

- Contributing to global file release, destruction, legal holds, and data access projects and ensuring compliance with policies and completion of the process
- Working to understand information management and security principles, and identifying opportunities to enhance the IG programme
- Assisting with the development, documentation, and revision of information management and security policies, standards, procedures, and processes and ensuring they are kept up to date and are reviewed by appropriate parties
- Assisting with IG programmes, including the security awareness campaign, information governance updates, and presentations
- Working with all levels of technology staff to understand technical processes and their relevance to data management and information security

We’d love to hear from you if you:

- Display excellent analytical and creative thinking skills
- Possess organisational skills needed to manage time well, prioritise effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate knowledge of records procedures and records retention principles and practices

And have:

- A high school diploma or equivalent, preferably a university degree
- Relevant IG or Records experience, preferably, and ideally at a law firm
- In lieu of directly related IG or Records experience, experience in other positions having significant document organizational responsibilities may be considered
