Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottingham City Council Full time

At Nottingham City Council we pride ourselves being an employer of choice offering an inclusive culture for you to thrive and feel valued at work. We are an exciting, dynamic, and innovative place to work, your work will be challenging but we guarantee it’ll be rewarding in a fast-paced city environment.

Nottingham is one of the UK’s Core Cities - young, vibrant, with a diverse population and a strong sense of identity. We are a city with plenty of challenges but also with a really, really strong ambition for the future. We have strengths in the diversity of our city, we have the ambition, and we have a sense of inheriting the rebellious spirit of Nottingham in the way we do things. Fancy joining in? Read on for our two exciting opportunties for talented HR professionals to join us.

**Role 1 - 26 hours per week partnering our Children's Integrated Services (1 year fixed-term contract)**
**Role 2 - 37 hours per week partnering our Adult Health & Social Care Reforms Programme (2 year fixed-term contract)**

At Nottingham we are embarking on an ambitious Together for Nottingham plan and our HR & EDI Division is front and centre of transformation. To support us on this journey, we are looking to recruit a new HR Consultant, who will act as a partner to a number of teams and services across our organisation. Our HR Consultants lead on a range of HR and EDI initiatives, including service redesign and transformation projects, supporting senior managers in designing and implementing effective workforce plans, leading effective case management and employee relations and being a champion for our ambitious EDI strategy.

**Essential Requirements**
- Sophisticated understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues and how they affect different sections of the community and the workforce
- Experience in challenging biases, and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for EDI
- Experience of leading and implementing change projects, service redesigns and transformation work
- Experienced in supporting the long-term development of leaders and managers, through effective coaching
- Ability to analyse, interpret and translate complex information to provide recommendations and then lead those initiatives through to implementation
- Understanding of HR/EDI across all disciplines, experience in at least one discipline and of implementing bespoke activity

Your holiday entitlement will range from 25-32 days (depending on previous local government service) and you’ll also get 8 additional bank holidays. You can also purchase up to 10 days’ extra leave, especially helpful if you need that long deserved break or just some extra time off.

**Smart working** - this role is hybrid and that means you have a blended approach of being in the office 20% of the working week to see your team, your manager and feel the buzz of the workplace for support and collaboration time, and the rest of the time you can work from home, or at an agreed location. A conversation will take place at interview to discuss how this would work for you and the organisation. You may be in the office a little more as part of your induction programme but we think this is a great way to learn the organisation quickly, having face to face time with the people that will set you up to flourish.

**Pensions** - We care about your future, one of our great features is our pensions offering up to 17.9%. That’s more than double than the average employer offers.

**Hours** - the two roles available are full time at 37 hours a week and part time at 26 hours per week, let's have a conversation at interview about this.
