**OVERVIEW**

A tech-driven insurance company is hiring for a Head of Data Science to drive their ongoing development of technical models and use of machine learning. Through cross-functional leadership as well as an effective team and project management, you will overseethe delivery of key initiatives. You will be responsible for the production of and acting upon value-creating models & analytical tools to drive the business forward. Your responsibilities as a head of data science will be the following;
- Attract, retain, motivate, and manage a team of dedicated and highly qualified actuaries & data scientists who will execute the mandate of the group.
- Work collaboratively across teams and the wider business to ensure that we achieve our business goals.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the controls such that all models are fit for purpose, meeting governance and regulatory standards, and these procedures are regularly reviewed and improved.
- Create data & analytical tools to assist analysts in managing their risk portfolio
- Serve as an organisational thought leader and strategist in the area of emerging trends within the market & wider machine learning field that could advance their technical pricing & commercial capabilities.
- Manage the outstanding catalogue of technical pricing and data science opportunities, evaluating and executing them in a reasonable and agreed time frame.
- Liaise with stakeholders across the rest of the organisation to assure that support required from Technical Pricing is prioritised and delivered

**YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

A successful Head Data Scientist will have the following:

- Experience leading teams in a Pricing or Data Science environment.
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or any other related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated success leveraging strong oral and written communication skills.
- Outcomes-focused, with specific measurable accomplishments.
- Cross-functional experience working with senior management teams.
