Climate Change Officer

A fantastic opportunity has come up for someone who has gained relevant experience in an environmental related role. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join us a new Climate Change Officer at South Hams and West Devon Councils. We are about to embark on a review of our 2020 Climate Change and Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan following the publication of the Devon Carbon Plan and with organisational net zero work ramping up, now is a great time to join us.
As the Climate Change Officer, You will work closely with colleagues from across all services, councillors, and outside organisations. The duties involve a range of coordination functions to support effective programme management, working closely with services across the organisation and outside the organisation, facilitating engagement activities, reviewing climate change strategies and action plans. You will also be expected to develop and implement climate related projects and programmes as required and support the development of funding bids to deliver activities which will further support decarbonisation efforts.

The framework aims to enhance both individual and organisational performance and will be applied in recruitment, performance management and career progression.
