Senior Food Technologist

Alexander Steele are delighted to continue to work in partnership with an award winning premium foods business. They supply high quality products into the retail, food service and B2B Manufacturing channels. They are looking for a talented Senior Food Technologistto join their team on London.
**On Offer**:
- A salary of £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
- Enhanced pension

- Hybrid - Option to work 2 days a week from home
- Working Monday to Friday (normal office hours)
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

**The role**:
As Senior Food Technologist you will report in to and support the Technical Manager with the delivery of all safe and legal technical requirements. You will work with the wider business including NPD, procurement, commercial, supply chain and operationsas well as working with suppliers and customers.
- Work with NPD on trials and launches from a Technical perspective
- Offer Technical support to sales, procurement and to the businesses customers
- Write and maintain specifications for both the business and customers
- Liaise with customers regarding product queries and issues and ensure a prompt and effective resolution
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure they have the relevant customer COPs and make sure these are adhered to
- Work with Technical Manager to put in place supplier improvement plans
- Ensure actions for audits are completed.
- Support with auditing, VACCP, risk assessments and performance monitoring reviews
- Gap analysis visits
- Support the Technical manager to ensure relevant information is shared with the team and wider business
- Timely production of reports and data
- Ensure that record and store information is accurate
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar Technical role within food manufacturing
- Hold a degree in Food Science or the equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of the food industry and UK food legislation is essential
- HACCP level 3 or above
- A motivated individual who can work well under pressure
- An individual with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
