Position: Food Technologist (12-Month Contract)

Location: Southwark, London, Hybrid

About the Position

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join our team in London on a 12-month contract. In this critical role, you'll ensure our products meet the highest technical and regulatory standards across Foodservice. From managing specifications and artwork to supporting compliance and customer queries, you'll help keep everything running smoothly — and compliantly — behind the scenes.

Key responsibilities include:

Specification & Compliance:

• Manage internal product specifications and ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Maintain up-to-date specification data to meet launch timelines and critical paths.
• Ensure product compliance with current legislation, regulations, and customer requirements.

Customer & Consumer Support:

• Respond to technical queries from customers and consumers via the Careline or account teams.
• Provide product derogations as needed and support foodservice customer needs.
• Deliver accurate Q&As, product information and artwork review in line with labelling regulations.

Project & Process Ownership:

• Lead and support Foodservice projects, delivering key milestones on time.
• Collaborate with sales, R&D and operations to deliver new product introductions effectively.
• Maintain documentation to ensure internal and external audit readiness and technical compliance.

What Does It Take to Be Successful?

To thrive in this role, you'll need a strong technical background, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to keep everything compliant, on time, and on track. You should have:

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical advisory or compliance-focused role within FMCG or food production.
• Familiarity with customer-facing technical account management.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Solid understanding of food regulations, labelling laws, and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail, process-oriented mindset, and comfort managing multiple priorities.
• High proficiency with technical documentation and systems used in the food industry.

Mindset:

• Solution-focused with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong communicator, able to work cross-functionally with Commercial, R&D and Supply teams.
• Collaborative and organised, with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables independently.
