My client on the outskirts of Southampton is looking for a Buyer.

My client is a large business based on the outskirts of Southampton.

**Description**

The Buyer is a key operational and hands on role within the Supply Chain team to ensure accountability for
- delivery of daily tasks, process adherence and supplier development;
- delivery to Project Wanted and Committed dates;
- act as a first escalation point for issues and to ensure that the correct planning and co-ordination is in place for all aspects of category purchasing
- exceed savings targets (tracking monthly) and all supplier's performance is monitored and improved to deliver and exceed against the daily metrics established within the department.
- Support and manage supplier NCR requests and ensure associated Correct Action Reports are provided in a timely manner
- Execute timely supply of materials and components within their Projects, including where necessary the raising of purchase orders
- Report delays in a proactive and timely manner of the team's orders on suppliers and those of others within the buying team. Take proactive action to manage and escalate issue that arise as appropriate. 100% accountable for the suppliers performance.

**Profile**
- Member of CiPs or training towards CiPS
- Experience of managing suppliers and working to tight timescales.
- Worked in similar roles in Purchasing

My client is very flexible and will equally look at someone who is experienced and looking to continue on their career in such a role, to someone who is at the lower end, perhaps looking for their next step in their procurement career.

High quality graduates with a relevant degree would also be considered.
