**Salary from £46,792 to £54,094 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £60,244 pa inclusive of London allowance**

The London School of Economics and Political Science is recruiting for a Head of Social Media who will be responsible for retaining and growing our engaged and lively online community. LSE’s social media channels communicate with our global community daily, inspire future social scientists and share academic knowledge in a format which is compelling and accessible.

As a crucial member of LSE’s central Communications Division, the Head of Social Media will own the social media strategy, and work with the Head of Brand to help plan and coordinate central LSE communications.

On a day-to-day basis the Head of Social Media will execute LSE’s communication strategy, managing the social media channels and creating and scheduling content for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram.

The post holder will continuously develop and execute LSE’s social media strategy, working with colleagues in Professional Services Divisions and Academic Departments to develop local expertise and delivery. This is a busy, exciting role working in a positive happy team, where every day is different. The post holder will bring expertise and knowledge to the Communications Division and will be passionate about delivering compelling content with a clear call to action. You will be an excellent communicator who can coach colleagues at all levels of seniority to use social media to meet our ambitious goals and deliver our communications strategy.

In addition to leading the development of our social media strategy the Head of Social Media will bring:

- Expert knowledge and practical experience of daily management of a university or other large international organisation’s social media channels
- Expert knowledge and practical experience of social media analytics and tools and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of trends in social media use generally to shape the social media strategy direction.
- Be a proactive senior member of the Communications Division providing expert advice and guidance to team members on proactive and reactive social media handling.
