Job summary
Startup Solutions Architects work hand in hand with technical co-founders, engineers and developers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption. Solutions Architects also take a leading role in creating and presenting technical content and best practices to the startup ecosystem.

In this role, you'll play a key part shaping our technical thought leadership for engaging with early stage startups in EMEA. You'll engage directly with some of the most interesting startups and form an up to date understanding of their needs and trends. Based on that and your understanding of AWS technologies, you will help define the broader technical strategy for the wider team. You will be a key spokesperson who will be representing AWS at the most important external technology startup forums. But you will also work with others, owning the design of public speaking tracks or other programs such as the CTO Fellowship. As an opinionated technologist you will be shaping the internal curriculum and knowledge base to enable the Startup SA community and better serve our customers.

You will also play a critical role as an advocate with our service teams to make sure we are building the right products for the next generation of startups.This is a unique role to work with one of the most exciting and demanding sets of customers you could find.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the definition of technical sessions at large AWS and 3rd party events. Work with the broader team to deliver educational content that helps hundreds of startups make the most of cloud computing.
- Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform. Proactively work within the organization to influence the evolution of the platform.
- Capture market and technology trends and invent best new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) by collaborating with the broader EMEA team of Startup Solutions Architects.
- Evangelize and educate about AWS technology and industry trends (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
- Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by owning part of the internal enablement and training material so that early career talent grows to build CTO skills and Startup knowledge.
- Collaborate within the startup ecosystem (accelerators, incubators, VCs and meetups) to educate startups and support their growth.

**The following qualifications are desired but not required**:

- Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale IT projects - either on premises or in the cloud
- Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go,.Net, Java, etc.)
- CTO/co-founder/architect experience for a VC-backed technology startup company
- AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
