Business Development Director

Our client is the UK's largest award-winning end-to-end Commercial Vehicle Fleet Management Company, managing over 200,000 vehicles for many blue-chip companies.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the role of Business Development Director is to drive increased new business revenue and profit with large fleet customers encompassing all services to support the company's ambitious growth. A remote based role with travelto customers and the clients HQ.
The Business Development Director will perform the following duties:
- Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets research and identify new business
- Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
- Meet with customers face to face or over the phone, identifying customers' requirements, opportunities and tenders
- Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- Have an exceptional understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about USP's
- Presenting propositions both online and face to face with confidence at senior management and stakeholder level
- Help to plan sales campaigns
- Negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers in some cases
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management/the executive directors
The Business Development Director will need to have:
- Proven and credible experience in external engagement and negotiations with businesses
- Experience of working within vehicle fleet, leasing and automotive supply chain
- Proven ability to work effectively in a variety of teams including building working relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
- Ability to make decisions independently, using own initiative, but also know when to seek wider input
- Able to demonstrate expertise of MS Office
- Experience in contract negotiations
