**Senior Liability Underwriter - Salary banding of £90,000 to £110,000 for London** We are currently looking for a **highly experienced Liability Underwriter** to join Aviva's Global Corporate and Speciality (GCS) team - this role would suit **an industry specialist within corporate casualty insurance, who can showcase a customer-centric, yet commercial mentality.** GCS is a significant growth area for Aviva, so we are seeking a person who can bring the right skills and knowledge to make further portfolio growth and development possible **A bit about the job**: Reporting into our Head of Corporate Casualty, you will deliver an excellent service to our customers (both brokers and clients) and business partners, underwriting corporate casualty business. You will ensure compliance with Aviva's boundaries, risk controls / underwriting philosophy, and guidelines and appetite strategy, alongside contributing to the development and execution of the team strategy and business plan (including assisting senior members with market insights aligned their portfolios, as well as taking referrals from junior team members). This will be achieved via regular liaison with internal partners, as well as our external broker community, ensuring you always endeavour to enhance Aviva's reputation in the market and strive for success & growth. Aviva introduced "smart-working" in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to **travel into our London offices minimum 3 days per week.** **Skills and experience we're looking for**: - Extensive underwriting experience within the liability space is essential, matched with excellent product knowledge of casualty underwriting i.e., risk assessment, pricing, coverage and setting of terms - Highly analytical mindset, with the ability to make complex decisions and problem solve regularly - Good understanding of the regulatory aspects of writing commercial insurance, exercising an excellent knowledge of market issues and dynamics - Good written and verbal communication & negotiation skills - Ability to communicate and influence senior stakeholders confidently i.e., prior exposure to liaising regularly with Risk and Insurance Managers will be a key part of the role **What you'll get for this role**: - Annual s alary of between £90,000 and £110,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications). - Generous pension (starting level Aviva contributes 8% when you contribute 2%) - Eligibility for annual performance bonus - Family friendly parental and carer's leave - 29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days - Up to 40% discount for Aviva products - Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars - Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme - 21 volunteering hours per year **Aviva is for everyone**: We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you.
