Assistant Merchandiser - Homeware

We are recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our Homeware team.

About the Role

As the Assistant Merchandiser for Homeware, you will assist the Merchandiser in effectively plan and trade across the division. You will be responsible for Initiating and proposing actions through analysis of brand, category or attribute trading patterns in order to deliver KPIs - whilst leading your team of Merchandise Admin Assistants to success.

You will be responsible for achieving divisional KPI’s: including top-line sales, margin and OTB plans for the Menswear category. Working closely with internal teams across Buying, Retail, Distribution and external vendors, you will manage the option range planners - communicating opportunities and risks to internal stakeholders.

Your duties will also include:

- Managing, coaching and developing the Merchandise Admin Assistants.
- Monitoring and reviewing performance of direct reports, identify individuals who are ready for promotion or require performance improvement plans.
- Challenging Merchandising processes to ensure team is working efficiently and effectively to support the business.
- Carrying out mid-season reviews to offer valuable analysis for the Merchandiser and Buyers to make strategic decisions for future season plans.
- Reforecasting in-season performance against plan, taking action in order to maximise profit return

About You

We are looking for high performing Merchandise Admin Assistant, established Assistant Merchandiser or be in a comparable Buying role looking for a change. You will have a strong understanding of store’s budgeting schedule, current forecast and growth requirements.

You will passionate about going above and beyond for the team. You will have developed great leadership and coaching capabilities through your time in Harrods, involved in the planning process for your department of responsibility and be aware of best practice and techniques such as: utilizing range building, sizing, flow of stock and deliveries.

You will be an Excel expert, with experience of auto replenishment and forecasting. You will also:

- Be detailed orientated, able to work at pace and adapt to changing priorities.

- Be data driven & financially aware & have a nurturing approach.
- Consistently strive for exceptional results.
- Be focused on driving profitability through effective planning and analysis.
