**Job description**:
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the UK intelligence community’s number one priority - Digital Transformation; ensuring we keep the country safe by maximising the opportunities that come from adopting our new hybrid cloud infrastructure securely and compliantly. This role will be part of the PULSER Policy Development Hub and you will embed within the UKIC PULSER organisation as the MOD lead representative. You will be responsible for managing the MOD relationship, advocating for MOD and connecting UKIC and MOD stakeholders. You will make decisions and contribute to cross government policy development with the delegated authority to act on behalf of MOD.

The post will ensure MOD requirements are represented and act as the lead for ensuring MOD policy is coherent, aligned and where required amended to meet the requirements. You will act as the single conduit for draft UKIC policy review and ensure the policy is signed off with the appropriate MOD stakeholder. You will be required to understand MOD organisational structures, routes for policy approval and be able to quickly identify MOD stakeholders should support be required.

Although you will remain with the MOD administratively, all PULSER Hub members work collaboratively across all of the organisations so you will get an unprecedented view across the Agencies. PULSER uses Agile delivery methodology with Hub members working in small teams on two-week sprints to deliver regular policy progress, with the ability to pivot as priorities and thinking evolves. You will have to be comfortable working as an embed within a UKIC team. Your grade will place you within the senior leadership of the Hub.

You will achieve fast-paced results and have a strong focus on customer value. You'll also have strong communication skills and an appreciation of how cloud technologies benefit business outcomes and the value of effective information and data management and the policies that support this. You will work flexibly and collaboratively across the National Security community in a hybrid working model, a mix of home-working, working from the PULSER Hub and working from your parent office depending on the business need. You will be comfortable working with colleagues from different backgrounds and organisations working towards a common goal.

All necessary training on PULSER and the Digital Transformation landscape will be provided. There are line management responsibilities in this role as it develops and additional MOD embeds are recruited.

An individual with a policy background is preferable, but knowledge of MOD structures, processes and organisations is more important to connect policy stakeholders. It is not envisaged this role will be creating policy in isolation. Awareness of Cloud and IT capability is highly desirable.
