We require an experienced print magazine graphic designer to liaise with our customers for design and editorial layout and our sales team for proofing, working in adobe creative suite publishing software based in our busy Newton Aycliffe office.

You must be able to work under pressure, and have excellent creative design expertise and good organisational skills to work with our editors for design layouts and our advertisers for artwork approval to print ready files.

You will be creating and managing high end premium business magazines in a highly prestigious industry & commerce environment and you will be responsible for creating visual designs which will adhere to brand identity for some of the biggest companies and organisations in the UK through innovative thinking and bold design.

You must be able to take projects from concept stage of outline design requirements right through to print approval with stunning business design, be able to manipulate images to finalising creative artwork and professional page layout along with production of media packs and rate cards, You will work with counterpart studio managers and must live locally.

**Your role will incorporate**:*
- Designing creative, professional business publications, ensuring they meet our client’s identities
- Overseeing the design, implementation and management of editorial and advertisers across magazines and some web banners
- Working with the editors and our in house sales team to create concepts and developing to final artwork stages
- Manage the design and layout of 48 to 56 page glossy magazines
- Understanding briefs from key stakeholders to establish concept, design and production criteria
- Ensuring all creatives adheres to style / brand guidelines and brand objectives
- Thoroughly checking spelling, photography, retouching, colour correcting and optimisations of all images, with good understanding of font management, image management and the latest operation of Macintosh environments.
- Be able to show and have experience of collation from design to pre print finished to print ready documents for output and upload to our printers uk wide.
- Staying ahead of trends and new ideas and interpret those into creative new designs *

**Requirements** **:Your Key Attributes**:*
- Successful background working and creating magazines *
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite *
- Commercial awareness and a solid track record of working on business magazines *
- Awareness of current and future trends, with a strong understanding of magazine branding *
- Strong conceptual ability, with an excellent eye for type, images and page layout *
- Print and production experience, art working skills and retouching knowledge *
- Awareness of digital and print with ability to work in other environment when required *
- Good visualization, written and verbal communication skills are required *
- Good understanding of production processes and to push design boundaries and workload when necessary *
- Strong confident personality, with passion, energy and aspiration in line with Benham brand and people values *
